I’m Sylvie.
Fifteen long years after finishing art school, I have finally made a website.
Why now?
I’ve never been the first one to arrive at a party. I remember a time before smart phones (quite fondly) and I’ve always identified strongly with the Luddites. I remember a very brief window of time when social media was still young, before it underwent its horrific transformation into the unrecognizable mess of advertisements, influencers, and AI slop that it is today. That brief window has long since collapsed, and social platforms no longer feel like the right place to share myself, my ideas, or my art.
But I would still like to share. So, in keeping with my Luddite sensibility, I’ve decided to return to an earlier technology: the static website.
My interests and creative pursuits are broad and ever changing, but whether I am writing, painting, photographing, designing, or building something, I have always found myself rampantly collecting observations.
This page is simply a place to document and share those observations. I hope you find something of value here.
