(mileage unknown)
Our ride through the park was spectacular. The climb and the traffic on Going-to-the-Sun Road was quiet and gentle. The colors and mountains here are next level. We did the climb with Chase. His enthusiasm is delightful, but his bike skills are terrifying. He was a joy to have around – just not too close, sort of like the bighorn sheep that we saw near the top of the pass. There’s a particular shade of vibrant blue-green that seems unique to the rivers and creeks here, and it’s unlike anything else. It started raining as we reached the pass, which made for a long, cold, slow, wet descent. We were drenched, now hardly able to see, feathering our brakes around the hairpin turns all the way down the mountain. My hands were numb and cramping up by the end of it.
10/10, would do again.
