(mileage unknown)

My sleeping pad has a hole again. I woke up on the ground at 3:30 am. I’m glad it’s not winter. After the grumpiness passed, I realized the sky was clear and that I would not have been awake to enjoy the stars here if not for my swiss cheese sleeping mat. I ate a fig bar and went back to sleep until the sun started rising around 5:30 am. I made coffee, packed the tent, and picked a handful of raspberries for my oatmeal. Today is looking good. I’m going to go off-route a bit and skip Shawano—it saves me 20 miles and I will get to go through Appleton instead. I want to stay at High Cliff State Park tonight, which sounds like a pretty spot.
