81 miles

Today was another long one, mileage wise—a mixture of trails and roads. We pulled into Minneapolis around 7:00 pm.

Zach’s partner Bree met us at their house and we chatted for a while. I couldn’t remember if I’d met her before, but she was so fun to talk to. She asked really good questions. Instead of “how many miles?” it was, “what do you think about on the bike?” We covered the usual ground, too, but I appreciated so much that we moved from small to medium talk so quickly. We talked about language, accents, dialects, letter sounds, aliens, humans, learning to speak Russian, all sorts of things. She told us she works in IT, doing some sort of programming, which she studied after majoring in saxophone. Their dog, Gonzo, is the best. They have a sizable collection of dinosaurs in their kitchen.

Zack returned home a while later and we had some more good conversation. They’re such nice people. We ended up going to Taco Bell for dinner because it had gotten so late, and then went to a place called 331 Tee, a local bar where lots of hip Minneapolis people were listening to an old guy yodel.
